Spur is Hiring: Operations Associate

Title:                      Operations Associate

Position Type:        Employee - nonexempt

Hours:                    40 hours per week

Compensation:       $20-$30 per hour

Reports to:             Executive Director

The Operations Associate supports the Executive Director and Spur’s Board of Directors in the achievement of Spur’s goals. The primary purpose of the position is to ensure Spur’s operations function in alignment with best practices and to a high standard of quality, accuracy and timely execution, all of which are essential to Spur’s success. Because Spur is a start-up organization, this position will be expected to participate in the innovation, implementation and refinement of processes and procedures that are foundational to Spur’s ability to scale its services to the community.

Scope of Duties:

FUNDRAISING

o  Enter and maintain information in Spur’s donor/CRM database for the purposes of contact management, interest and activity tracking, as well as list management.

o  Process donations

o  Compose and send gift acknowledgements, appeals and solicitations

o  Design and run reports

 

GRANTING

o  Monitor grant requests received through our online portal and initiate due diligence and approval process

o  Design and maintain forms for grant applications and evaluation

o  Compose templates for grantee communications and cover letters that accompany grants

o  Correspond with grantees as needed

o  Design and run reports

 

FINANCE

o  Basic Bookkeeping, including the entry of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

o  Design and run reports

 

EVENTS AND MEETINGS

o  Work with the Executive Director, Board and Advisors to conceive of and plan educational and public outreach events.

o  Coordinate the scheduling of group meetings, tracking of attendance, set-up and logistics of the gatherings, and the whatever follow-up is planned.

o  Prepare informational displays and materials to be handed out at events, when needed.

o  Prepare minutes and follow-up notes for Spur committee and board meetings

 

GENERAL ADMINISTRATION

o  Prepare correspondence, informational material and policy documents

o  Generate and maintain lists of stakeholders (Board, Advisors, partners, media, etc.)

o  Perform office manager functions such as purchasing supplies, ensuring the proper maintenance of equipment and the cleanliness of the office

o  Pickup and send mail from Ketchum Post Office

 

Skills and qualifications:

·       Attention to detail and ability to produce reliably accurate work-product – (i.e. a healthy inclination for perfectionism)

·       Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers

·       Robust computer skills with Microsoft365 programs for including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills

·       A knack for developing processes that achieve efficient workflow and quality outputs.

·       Ability to manage diverse tasks according to varied timelines

·       Versatility with both quantitative and qualitative information and with routine and non-routine tasks.

·       Creativity, imagination and personal initiative

·       A sincere interest in the nonprofit sector and the well-being of our community

·       An entrepreneurial spirit and“can-do” attitude that will thrive in a fast-growing business.
